Class is full

What is drawing? In this class we will push the boundaries of what it means to draw all within an art historical framework. The goal of this class is not only to build on “seeing” and attention to detail, but to expand the traditional framework of drawing by incorporating a variety of experimental techniques including, but not limited to: different drawing mediums, drawing through erasure, drawing with string and drawing with unconventional “machines” among others.

Jenny is an award-winning, independent, St. Augustine area artist and has shown her work internationally in galleries and museums.  Her formal education includes a BS from Vanderbilt University, a certificate in Museum Studies from Northwestern University and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Supplies Needed:

  • A large pad of Canson XL mixed-media paper (I find smaller pads can be a bit confining when experimenting),
  • a pencil,
  • a pencil sharpener,
  • a good eraser,
  • medium charcoal sticks,
  • black ink,
  • a small paintbrush,
  • disposable cups,
  • a black pen
  • a rag for clean-up.

Class sessions will be held on Tuesdays, June 6, 13, 20, 27 from 1 to 3 at the River House (179 Marine Street, St. Augustine 32084)

Returning students please note the new day and time.

Classes are for ages 18 and up.
